is to Chile as the Eiffel tower is to Paris, because is part of
its tradition and a source of great pride.
Varieties of Cármenér,
Merlot, Cabernet Souvignon, Souvignon Blanc and Chardonnay are frequently
awarded at the most prestigious international fairs.
If you wish to taste and to
know how Chilean wine is produced, we invite you to follow one of
the wine routes. The largest wine producing area is near
Santiago due to special geographics and climatc characteristics.
The
first option is a tour to Colchagua area, where you can visit six
vineyards with wine tasting, visit the Colchagua Museum of the
Wine or El Huique House and eat lunch. The tour begin
in San Fernando, a city placed 142 Km. from Santiago.
The
second option include visits to vineyards of international reputation,
covering the area between Talca (257 Km. from Santiago) and Linares.
In this valley (El Maule), there are 11 vineyards offering tours
that combine museums, traditional farm houses, typical villages,
horseback rides up the mountainsides and lunch.
If
you have only a short time, to visit vineyard inside Santiago, as Counsiño Macul, Santa Carolina or Concha y Toro,
are excellent option. All they are placed near to Americo Vespucio
Sur Ave.
